Rain, rain, go away...

Okay, so today when I got home my room mate Lucas was in the front room with some girls chatting or something. I just went back to my room and did some reading when all of a sudden I hear this sound like someone is running the shower faucet. So I stop reading to listen to figure out what is going on when I start to hear screaming, so I go out and lo and behold in the bathroom across from my bedroom water is pouring out of the ceiling. The girls ran and got a trash can to catch the water, which was nice, but then they were just chilling across the chastity line asking if they could help. I appreciated the sentiment, but I was kind of mad because I almost had to push them back into the front room because they wouldn't go away! I know I am a boy, and thus face discrimination, but trust me, I can clean up a little water. So while Lucas ran upstairs top bang on our neighbors apartment to get them to turn off the water or whatever, I got out some rags to mop up the water. I needed to clean the floor anyways, I suppose, but I wasn't exactly planning on doing it on Sunday, but oh well. It was kind of exciting if it wasn't so retarded that their was water coming out of the ceiling. The other sucky thing is that the water was pouring out of the fan and the electric heater thing to make the bathroom warm, so now I am kind of afraid to turn them on, haha. Anyhow, so that is the negative highlight of my Sunday, how about you, haha?

My Goodness

Okay, so the whole blogging thing is not nearly as easy as I thought it would be, haha.
Here is to new beginnings anyhow.
So basic recap, well, actually that is pretty much impossible at this point, but I will see what I can do.
I had some pictures from the drive up from California to the BY, but I can't find them all except these two. I can't remember where I put them. The drive was pretty good. The drive gets easier every time I do it. We got in a little late, which was kind of depressing. I don't mind being late, but I hate driving long distances at night. It makes the whole experience seem so much longer and so much more unpleasant. We left late, no surprise, when do we ever leave on time, haha. The time problem was compounded though because we ran into bumper to bumper traffic for a while. To make a long story short, this is apparently what caused the traffic jam out in the middle of nowhere:

I wish I could have taken a picture of the other vehicle involved. That is the exploded back half of a semi. Right in front of that was this totally burnt white big van thing, if you know what I am talking about, those big Ford ones. I wonder if anyone died, because it looked like they both exploded. Anyhow, I hope no one's lives got destroyed, but I was way mad at the delay.
So we got on and went to In-n-Out for lunch, or however you spell it. I can never remember if it is one n or two:

There, photographic evidence. I guess I am supposed to post pictures of myself in my own blog. I don't really agree, but oh well. The food was food. I don't so much care for fast food anymore, but as far as fast food goes In-n-Out is probably my favorite. The rest of the drive was pretty uneventful. Michael, Ryan, Brad, and I were pretty tired by the time we got there.
I had to go to the grocery store though, which was sad. Because I am living with total strangers and we got there on a Saturday night, I thought it might be awkward if I was eating their food before I even knew their names, haha.
When I got there I found my apartment okay, but no one was home, so I wasn't sure if it was the right place or where I was supposed to sleep. There was a completely empty bed with a tattered looking mattress, so I just assumed that was mine and set up my bed. Half of my room mates didn't even get back from Christmas break until Sunday night. It was kind of weird. They seem like a nice group of people though. They are messy, they almost never clean. I do the dishes a few times a week and clean the kitchen every few days and then I try to vacuum and sweep and wash the mirrors at least once a week, but I don't always get around to it. However, I have very little to complain about. They have been wonderfully accommodating to my difficult schedule and they are very laid back and moderately quiet. If I have to clean a little, so be it. Generally speaking they leave my stuff alone and they don't bother me. Considering that the guy I am replacing here left because he hated everyone here, I consider myself very lucky as this was just luck of the draw.
I got a job working early morning custodial at the BYU Bookstore. It is a fun job especially because I work with really fun people. That is the best part. I actually look forward to getting up at 3:20 every morning to go to work. Well, sort of. I work from 4:00 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. Monday through friday and 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Saturdays, with Tuesday being my off day. I think the best part is I get a twenty percent discount at the BYU Bookstore. Now I just need to find out if I can double the Amazon.com savings with the BYU Bookstore savings, beause if you special order a book I think they buy it from Amazon.com, which is often already discounted. If I could that would be really cool. However I already spend too much money on books as it is, so maybe I should just stay as it is. Don't worry Mom and Dad, I have already promised myself I won't buy a single book with the money from this paycheck. There were just a few absolute necessities missing from my personal library that needed immediate attention. I mean, there are a few essentials that are still missing, but I will add them with time I suppose.
